The e-Mason Race
It's a race to the finish in the first-ever e-Mason Race! 

What exactly is The e-Mason Race?

Ever watched The Amazing Race?  Well, this is Mason's version of the popular globe trotting show! Students will traverse the Fairfax Campus by figuring out clues and completing challenges with the help of the Student Involvement App. You'll form small teams just before the game begins and you'll race to the finish while taking photos of campus landmarks and your teammates.

Winning teams will be given a shopping spree at the VIP Shopping Event hosted by the George Mason University Bookstore. The VIP event begins at 6PM.

Question:  How do I get the Student Involvement App? 

Answer: The app is available to download (FREE) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmu   The app is not yet available for Apple products.

Those who are Apple users may still play in the game - The app should be released soon.

Beacon, Eggs, & Cheese: Breakfast for Student Success

Students will have an opportunity to meet faculty and staff involved in Student Success efforts, including the administration and management of Mason’s Beacon survey. Students will have an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the upcoming Beacon survey, reflect on strategies for success at Mason, and start their morning off right with a hearty breakfast. 
Prior to getting breakfast, students will be asked to post on a message board (or write a message on a small white board) – Returning students will post tips for success at Mason, and First year students will post an academic or co-curricular goal for their first semester at Mason. Once they have written their message, students will be asked to tweet them, or post on Instagram/Facebook. 
For students in a hurry to get to morning classes, to-go items including granola bars and bags of trail mix will be available. Packaging on to-go items will be labeled with Beacon survey dates and links to more detailed information about the Beacon survey. Fast facts from the 2013 survey, information about the 2014 survey, and Student Success Roadmaps will also be distributed at the event.

Planting the Seeds of Well-Being at Mason

Join us for a day-long planting event in the Reforest Mason site, next to the Rappahannock Parking Deck. Groups of students will work with volunteers in one-hour shifts over the course of the day to plant native Virginia plants and simultaneously "plant the seeds of well-being at Mason."
